Is microdermabrasion painful?
Microdermabrasion is a relatively simple and painless procedure, done without anesthesia. Many patients liken the sensation to having your face rubbed with a fine piece of sand paper. Others say it’s like being licked by a cat. But most describe their skin as feeling "refreshed" immediately after treatment.
Can anyone undergo microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is not recommended for people with:
• Keloid or raised scarring
• Skin cancer
• Precancerous actinic keratoses lesions
• Skin growths
• Recent sunburn
How soon will I notice the results?
Most patients notice their skin seems smoother, tighter, and softer immediately after treatment. You should, however, expect your skin to look slightly pink and be a little more sensitive than usual. For deeper microdermabrasion treatments, your skin may be slightly red and puffy for a day or two.
Will one treatment be enough?
